5 ways to collect udhaar without hurting relationships
24 September 2026 · 1 min read
Udhaar keeps customers coming back. It can also quietly eat into your cash. Here are five ways to collect what's owed and keep the relationship warm.
1. Write it down the same day
Memory is the first thing to fail. Record every credit sale on the day it happens, with the amount and the date. A clear record makes the conversation easy: you're sharing facts, not making claims.
2. Send a polite reminder, not a demand
A short, friendly WhatsApp message works better than a phone call at the wrong time. Mention the amount and the bill date, and thank them for their business.
3. Share the statement
When a customer can see every bill and payment in one statement, there's nothing to argue about. It also helps them check their own records.
4. Make paying easy
The easier it is to pay, the sooner people pay. A UPI QR code on the bill means they can pay the moment they open it.
5. Know who to chase first
Not all dues are equal. Start with the oldest and largest amounts, and with customers who usually pay late.
How ApnaCA helps
ApnaCA's Collections screen shows who to chase, with ready-to-send WhatsApp reminders that you send yourself. Customer ledgers and statements are one tap away, PDF bills can carry a UPI pay-now QR code, and a payment score shows how reliably each customer pays.
